History of Choice City
Choice City Christian Camp started in the summer of 1993. In our first year we saw anywhere from 3 to 19 children per day and a school van was used for transportation on all field trips. The camp began with Mr. Ness as the only full-time teacher and he had the assistance of a couple of part-time teachers on the larger field trips with more children.
The camp continued to grow for the next few years as word got out about the great activities and dedicated staff. As the camp grew, the need for a big yellow school bus made travel to and from the activities much more exciting. Full-time staff grew to between 3 and 6 teachers to handle the number of children attending.
There are some activities that have remained the same throughout the years, and many new activities have been added as well. The location of the camp has moved from the original Drake and Stover building to the Harmony School Christian Early Childhood Center on Harmony St. and Timberline Ave. in Fort Collins. The Harmony School has been a great landlord the past twelve years, blessing the camp in many ways. Being located in southeast Fort Collins has opened the door to families in Windsor, Loveland, and even Greeley.
Operating for 25 years, we are beginning to see kids from years before enroll their children in the camp. We hope to see Choice City Christian Camp move forward for many more years to come and hope your children can enjoy the experience with us!
